THE FRAMEWORK FOR A NEW SPORTING FUTURE
The 2015 government sport strategy Sporting Future: a new strategy for a more active nation, was a fundamental re- framing of sport and physical activity in the UK. It set out 5 outcomes delivered by sport and physical activity:
OUR MISSION, OUR ACADEMY
At Lioness Coaching Academy, we are dedicated to empowering young girls to unlock their full potential through strength, resilience, and confidence-building. Our mission is to provide a safe, supportive, and inclusive space where girls can develop their athletic skills, embrace teamwork, and cultivate a champion’s mindset. We strive to inspire each girl to lead with courage, pursue her goals fearlessly, and grow into a confident, capable leader on and off the field.
TESTIMONIALS
Yolandi was more than just our football coach in 2005 when she guided us to the Muslim Women’s Olympics in Iran—she was a friend, a mentor, and a true people’s person. She had an incredible ability to get the very best out of her players, helping us grow both on and off the field.
Yolandi was always committed to understanding us as individuals, not just as athletes. Coming from various ethnic backgrounds, we deeply appreciated how she took the time to learn about our cultures, which strengthened our bond as a team. Her ability to connect, inspire, and elevate each of us speaks volumes about her character and dedication.
Yolandi’s warmth, adaptability, and passion for coaching made her an invaluable part of our journey, and anyone fortunate enough to work with her will experience the same level of excellence.
Sian effortlessly makes her football technical sessions fun. The way she teaches and demonstrates handling a ball is spot on for the young girls and she is so patient to re explain if she can see some are finding it difficult.
To manage a different number of children week in week out, teach, explain, laugh and show them all what they are capable has bought confidence beyond belief.
My youngest daughter who struggles with attention and direction has really excelled with her drills and shown what she has been taught into matches – even showing off her new skills to her coach and team mates.
